Historical Studies of Contemporary China
Selected Essays on the History of Contemporary China
Edited by Zhang Xingxing (Institute of Contemporary China, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences) http://www.brill.com/products/book/selected-essays-history-contemporary-china)

Historical Studies of Contemporary China is a collaboration between Brill
and the Social Sciences Academic Press. The series draws on the journal Studies of Contemporary Chinese History 《当代中国史研究》 (Dangdai Zhongguo shi yanjiu), which many of you will recognize as the most important national publication in the history of China after 1949.
The first volume is edited by Zhang Xingxing (Institute of Contemporary China, CASS), and gives a general introduction to the breadth of the journal. Subsequent volumes will be built around themes: volumes on agriculture (Eds. Huaiyin Li and Thomas DuBois), on medicine (ed. Liping Bu), and gender (ed. Xiaofei Kang) are currently in the works. Each begins with a scholarly introduction by the volume editor/s.
